I own several Topeak cycling products and this entry level cycle computer is the best value. The computer is priced to compete with entry level "8 function" computers. The V10X is called a 10 function. The additional functions are a speed pace indicator and a low battery indicator. The speed pace indicator is a little arrow to the left of your speedometer pointing either up or down depending on whether your current speed is less than or greater than your current average speed...a cool feature if you use average speed to mark your conditioning level.
The other unique thing about the V10 is that the three pieces of information you most want while riding are always on the screen, that is speed, time of day and riding distance.
If you are like me and have owned Sigma, Cateye or house brand entry level cycle computers you will find programing the V10 different simply because there are only two buttons. Therefore, I suggest reading (the direction are mostly pictures)the direction carefully.
While I gave the V10 five stars I'm not sure I like (I don't dislike it) the way it mounts. The mount is a bracket that clamps to the handlebar stem and protrudes to the front of the bike. The recommended placement is directly in front of the handlebar stem. This position enables you to run the wire directly to the fork mounted receiver, but I think I prefer positioning a cycle computer on top of the handlebar stem where is is less obtrusive.
The Topeak brain trust has outdone themselves with the V10. A quality product well worth the price. I'll update this review if any issue develop.

This was fairly easy to install. The instructions are mostly visual and at times a little vague, so if you are not the intuitive type with hardware I suggest having a friend or bike shop install it. I installed it as soon as I got it and took it out on a route that I knew the exact mileage of, and it was right on the mark. Now I have confidence that when I start running errands on my bike around town I will be able to track my mileage accurately. Now I can run errands, work out (knowing my time and effort spent)and save the planet(no gas or mileage on my car!). This is a nifty gadget if you are looking for an entry level cyclometer. The unit itself is much smaller than the photo makes it look, but that is true for all the units on the market. It fits snuggly in its' cradle and does not pop out on bumps or curbs, but still releases easily after the ride is over. I highly recommend this unit!
