The Knog Nerd 9-Function Bicycle Computer offers a fun and efficient way to record your cycle stats with smart, simple functionality and painless tool/wire-free set up. After you have installed your Nerd it is time to experience the computer's functionality. I like it, it works. one gripe. When i want to use it on my trainer i have to move the sensor to the rear wheel. But the transmit distance is way short so i have to put the computer on my top tube almost under my saddle for it to pickup the signal. Makes it hard to read but at least it works and doesn't require too much work to move it.
Two things that I really like about this computer:
1) The relative speed bar on the lower right. It motivates me to go faster when I see myself drop below my average, and pushes me to hit the max on downhills.
2) The way it attaches is just a rubber strap and a hook. It's very easy to get on and off, which is great for when I'm just riding around the city. I can just take it off, put it in my pocket and not have to worry about someone stealing it.
The one thing I don't like is that the speed scrolls when it changes instead of just switching to the new change all at once. It takes about a half second for the speed to roll over, which seems insignificant, but the speed updates about every two seconds. So a half second scroll means that you can't actually see your speed 25% of the time. This gets annoying when you flick your eyes down for barely a moment to check your speed, only to see that you're going 18... something. Awesome. Thanks for that handy piece of information.
Still an excellent piece of equipment, still recommend it.
